Kirk Putnum is the pride of the Valley and a serious surf historian. You should see the stuff packed into his garage. In the 70s he helped evolve the displacement hull surfboard along with Greg Liddle and Steve Krajewski which is the board of choice for every Hipster/ Surfer (and not the other way around) on the coast. On this episode we head out to the heart of the San Fernando Valley to check out Kirk's infamous garage, then pack it into Big Johnny Goss's (Kirks body guard) van and head through the canyon to Kirk's old stomping ground Malibu (which he hasn't surfed in years).
